Founded in Porto Alegre in 1991 by renowned tax lawyers including Ivar Luiz Nunes Piazzeta, Francisco Sales Velho Boeira, Gilson José Rasador and Guillermo Antônio Araújo Grau, Piazzeta e Boeira Advocacia Empresarial specialized in Tax and Corporate Law, with a special focus on Tax Controversy within the Brazilian market.

In July 1995, Piazzeta e Boeira expanded to Southeastern Brazil and, in association with local lawyers, established offices in São Paulo and Florianópolis; in 1996, another office was opened in Belo Horizonte and in 1997 another in Curitiba.
